SCHOOLS
The Just Move It! campaign is back and in full force! Last year, upwards of 15,000 panhandle residents heard the Just Move It! message delivered by school groups. This year, we would like to again partner with schools for this fun, light-hearted health promotion activity. If your school is interested in this partnership and resides within the Panhandle Public Health District jurisdiction in the Nebraska panhandle, please contact Jessica Davies by e-mailing jdavies@pphd.org or calling (308)487-3600.
How it works…
A group within your school is chosen to coordinate the activity. This
activity consists of choreographing an easily maneuvered dance comprised of
mostly upper-body movements as fans will be completing the activity from the
stands. The movement activity must be done to the 60-second sound byte of,
“I Like to Move It.” We will provide a banner for your school gymnasium
and footprints for the gymnasium entry way. The activity must be performed
at 75% of home basketball games and can be completed at halftime of
either the boys or girls varsity game.
An example of a
dance, created by the 2007-2008 Hay Springs High School Flag Corps can be
downloaded here.
